
Today was my very first day taking Cardio Barre. It’s been a little tough for me to even get BACK into a class….I mean, I’ve been such a lazy girl full of excuses. So I thought a cardio barre class would be a great introduction back into my body. I had NEVER taken class of the sort and for some reason this morning, I had the sudden urge to surprise myself and take a class that I’ve never taken before.
(sidenote: I will always remember my friend Katy telling me that she would like to “surprise” herself more often. I love that and I have gladly taken that on.)So at 9:45am today I looked up the schedule to see there was a beginners 10:30 class. I changed and bolted out the door just in time to make it.
I had no idea what to expect and even the act of doing something totally unknown to me was so liberating. The simple act of just showing up was a rewarding feeling!
That class….KILLED ME! I nearly fainted, threw up or cursed out the instructor.
And I absolutely LOVED every minute of it.
So step 2 of my pathway back to dance has begun: Getting my strength back.
