Topic: The Price of Tea in China
Thanks to @CbadMum for the topic today.
I actually was never aware of the phrase, “What’s that got to do with the price of tea in China?”
So when @CbadMum suggested this topic for a blog, I felt like I was going to be doing some research into taxes and politics regarding the price of tea in China. Hey, I was willing to do this.
So apparently the phrase “price of the tea in China” dates all the way back to the 40’s. Economists used this phrase to denote the farthest logical connection to the conversation at hand. It’s used to slam an irrevelant topic of discussion.
According to wikipedia we can use this kind of phrase in America but saying “What’s that got to do with the price of eggs?
Speaking of eggs I’m having breakfast in a restaurant alone. I knew a boy in high school who had a very strict rule in his life that he would NEVER eat alone in a sit down restaurant. Does that mean he’s insecure? Does he think that makes him less of a man? Do any of you have the same rule? What’s wrong with being seen alone?
Hahaha but what does that have to do with The Price of tea in China?
